About Us:


Out of Stronger Than Before Productions, born and raised from the heart of St. Ann, Jamaica comes Daddy Roy. As a youth growing up around his elders, Daddy Roy recognized a strong love and passion for the soulful, artsy rhythmic beat of reggae music which constantly flowed throughout the streets.


Drawing drive and inspiration as a world reggae artist and performer from a number of highly influential and world renowned Reggae Superstars such as Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff and others, Daddy Roy has written and released various albums and singles to date including Single: “Karma” (2013), Single: "Help Me Father" (2013), "Rockstone" (2013), "Drive on the Highway" (2013), “Live the Life You Love, Love The Life You Live” (2012), and “Mama Work Hard”(2011) to name a few. His conscious reggae music is based on original lyrics with the intention to leave a message of positivity, strength and unity for any audience. Conscious reggae music for all ages, faces and races is what Daddy Roy aims to deliver!


Daddy Roy has received recognition in various areas including being selected and featured on The World of 96.1 FM compilation CD Volume 10, - “a compilation of world beat music, representing some of the finest world musicians in the community”. “The Messenger” was also selected as the featured artist for world music station Fairchild Radio, and he has appeared on various radio stations and media worldwide. Daddy Roy was also nominated for seven categories at the prestigious 2011 West Coast Reggae Caribbean Music Awards in Vancouver, and came up as one of the big winners collecting three awards for: “Best Reggae Independent Artist Male”, “Best Male Vocalist”, and Best Reggae Single for his track “Peace and Love”.


Armed with a vision for success, embracing an audience, and the love of the music industry, Daddy Roy and the Messenger Reggae band of professional, harmonious musicians consisting of keys, drums, horns, bass, guitar and vocals have performed at various venues, festivals, and events in Canada, Jamaica, and the United States. They have had the privilege to play and/or share the stage at various venues including Squamish Reggae Nights, the West Coast Reggae Caribbean Music Awards show, The Whistler Olympics, Caribbean Days Festival, Frostbite Music Festival, Fusion Festival, Jamaica Day, Saskatoon Tour and many many more. Daddy Roy and the Messenger Band have also had the privilege to work and collaborate with various artists including Maxi Priest and many more.
